
Glow-in-the-dark millipede says ‘stay away’
This bioluminescent millipede is known for nightly mass excursions in the California mountains. I mean, can you imagine hordes of these glowing creepy-crawlies creepy-crawling around? *shudder*
Well now scientists have an idea why they turn on the lights when they go out: to avoid predators. They are completely blind, but somehow know when it gets dark and begin to glow for their own safety.
